FAQ

Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?

Most of the time, no. Many patients feel immediate relief and improved movement after an adjustment. However, some may experience mild soreness or aching—similar to what you might feel after starting a new workout. This discomfort is usually temporary and goes away within a day or two.

Do I really need an adjustment if my back already “cracks” on its own?

It’s true—our bodies naturally and continuously self-adjust throughout the day, whether you’re stretching, moving, or even sleeping. However, sometimes certain joints get stuck and don’t correct themselves, which can cause nerve irritation and discomfort. That’s when chiropractors step in. Through gentle, targeted adjustments, they help restore proper movement and support your body’s natural healing, so you can feel your best.

Are chiropractic adjustments safe?

Yes! Research shows that chiropractic adjustments are very safe. A national study found the risk of serious problems from neck adjustments is “low to very low.” Another study from New Zealand even called chiropractic care “remarkably safe.” In fact, taking common over-the-counter pain medicines is about 100 times riskier than getting an adjustment.

Can children get subluxations?

Definitely. Kids get subluxations too. The birthing process can put a lot of pressure on their tiny spines. Sometimes, unexplained behaviors like sudden crying, irritability, or loss of appetite could be signs of spinal irritation. Chiropractic care can help address these issues and support your child’s health.

Is chiropractic good for Mothers-to-be?

Absolutely! Chiropractic care helps create the best environment for your baby to grow and develop. Even before pregnancy, chiropractic care can prepare your body to be strong, flexible, and balanced. During pregnancy, regular adjustments help keep your spine aligned and your body comfortable, which can also encourage your baby to settle into a better position for birth. Many moms-to-be notice less discomfort and a greater sense of well-being throughout their pregnancy.
